Brain Cancer is one of the deadliest types of cancer with a survival rate less than 10% , making it extremely difficult to cure. Although brain cancer accounts for only about 1% of all cancer cases, it is a type that many people fear due to the challenges of treatment, which often involves traditional methods such as chemotherapy.
To ensure that a medicine can precisely target brain cancer and inhibit cancer cells while minimizing toxicity to the body, a research team from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, has developed an innovative Injectable Polymeric Drug Delivery System for Human Brain Cancer Treatment using BioPolymer Gel.
With this injectable BioPolymer innovation, doctors can deliver drugs directly to the brain, which enhances the efficiency of cancer cell inhibition. It also reduces the loss of drug volume and minimizes the side effects on other organs.
